Book Club - The Weatherman by Steve Thayer

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. This book troubled me a lot. It has an intriguing story line, mysterious characters, corrupt - adulterous politicians, beautiful heroines, great set ups and a terrible ending. Nothing happens, there is no mystery, there is no twist, there is no reasoning for 7 murders. Just plain old chalk.
Even I could come up with atleast 3 different exciting endings for this book that would've knocked the socks off the reader. The author, who himself is from Minnesota, fondly describes the region/state/lifestyle in great detail as a set up to the story. In the end it comes across as a boring tale included in a brochure for Minnesota tourism. I for one think Minnesota is extremely boring. I have some great friends who hail from that state, but i do not think the Mid-west is "exciting".
